Staff Sgt. Jennifer Morales currently serves as a Marine Corps drill instructor with November Company, 4th Recruit Training Battalion, at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, S.C. Morales joined the Marine Corps in June 2007 and became a drill instructor in September 2012. “I’ve known since boot camp that I was going to be a drill instructor,” said Morales, a 25-year-old native of Providence, R.I. “My drill instructors were so full of passion and made a huge impact on my life. I want to make that kind of impact on the future of the Marine Corps.” About 600 Marine Corps drill instructors shape the approximately 20,000 recruits who come to Parris Island annually into basic United States Marines. Parris Island is home to entry-level enlisted training for 50 percent of males and 100 percent of females in the Marine Corps. (Photo by Cpl. Caitlin Brink)
