Australian Army Officer Maj. Gen. Richard M. Burr, Deputy Commanding General Operations, U.S. Army Pacific delivered the Commemorative Address for the ANZAC Day Ceremony at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific Punchbowl April 25, 2014. April 25, 2014 marked the 99th anniversary of the landings at Gallipoli by the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps - the ANZACs during the First World War. ANZAC Day now commemorates the sacrifice made by Australian and New Zealand troops in all wars throughout history. Both nations recognize the date as an occasion of national remembrance both at home and abroad.
