Scott from Dayton, Ohio, sits in a survival shelter made by Royal Brunei Land Force service members Nov. 14 during exercise Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training 2014 at Penanjong Garrison. The training in each phase of CARAT varies based on shared goals and available assets of the host nations and the U.S. The overarching goals of CARAT maritime exercise are to promote regional security cooperation, promote mutual understanding, and enhance interoperability among participating forces.
