Royal Brunei Land Force service members teach U.S. Marines about survival shelters Nov. 14 during exercise Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training 2014 at Penanjong Garrison. The scenarios during CARAT are tailored with input from the U.S. and each host nation to address shared security concerns such as counter-piracy and maritime interception operations. Exercise CARAT is a venue where best practices in humanitarian assistance/disaster response, medical training, and international maritime law are shared. The Royal Brunei service members are with 1st Battalion, Royal Brunei Land Force.
