Josh Fernandez, a 15-year-old Corpus Christi native, explores the Naval Air Station Kingsville’s fire engine to experience what it’s like to be a first responder. This tour is part of the command’s “Pilot for a Day” event that enables children in the local community who have life-threatening medical conditions to tour air operations facilities as well as the base’s fire and emergency services departments. This tour is just one of the many community outreach activities the NAS Kingsville command supports throughout the year to help Sailors engage with the American people they protect and provide the public with access to their Navy. NAS Kingsville plays a vital role in training Navy and Marine Corps tactical jet aviators for the fleet.
