Angel Ibarra, a student with the Semi Refueler Operator Course and motor transportation operator with Marine Wing Support Squadron 273, Marine Aircraft Group 31, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, uses a chart on the M970 semitrailer refueler to determine various valve positions required to conduct refueling operations Dec. 17, 2014 aboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina. When conducting refueling operations, Marines operate the trailer to move bulk fuel from the tank of the trailer into a variety of aircraft or storage tanks. The SROC is being held aboard the air station to train 24 Marines with various units within II MEF to become proficient semitrailer refueler operators, an advanced military occupational specialty after Marines earn the primary MOS of motor vehicle operator.
