Sgt. Jacob Baumann poses for a photo near the scene where he saved a local elderly man after he fell off of his bicycle onto the road. Baumann moved the local and his bike to the side and began several chest compressions that saved his life. “It was more reaction from my training and just what Marines do, said Baumann. “It was more on the lines of, ‘what can I do to help?’ That’s what we’re here for as Marines; we’re here to help.” Baumann is a fire support man with Headquarters Battery, 12th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force.
