Kirkuk natives Abdul Mahdi Aga and Emud Adai find their grandfather's tombstone during their visit to the Sultan Saqi cemetery, May 27. Iraqi and U.S. Air Force commanders co-hosted the "Sultan Saqi Shrine Restoration Ceremony," to which community and religious leaders, and family of the deceased buried here, were invited. Among the several family members Abdul and Emud have buried in the cemetery, one has been laid to rest for 100 years, they said. For some Iraqis, this was the first visit to the cemetery and shrine since the 1970's when former Iraqi base leaders expanded the installation and encompassed the cemetery and surrounding communities.
