Lt. Col. Mark Rowan, chaplain, 506th Air Expeditionary Group group chaplain, presents a photograph to Sheikh Akbar Hussain, Iraqi shrine and cemetery caretaker, during the "Sultan Saqi Shrine Restoration Ceremony," May 27. Iraqi and U.S. Air Force commanders welcomed community and religious leaders, and family of the deceased buried here, to a Sultan Saqi shrine restoration ceremony as a goodwill gesture. For some Iraqis, this was the first visit to the cemetery and shrine since the 1970s when former Iraqi base leaders expanded the installation and encompassed the cemetery and surrounding community. Chaplain Rowan, who is the temporary cemetery caretaker, is a Long Island, N.Y., native deployed here from Yokota Air Base, Japan.
