Wada were presented with the United States Armed Forces Air Medal during a ceremony in the Washington Senate Chamber at the 11th annual Navy Appreciation Day in Olympia, Wash. for their meritorious achievement during an aerial flight rescue on Mt. Stuart. Navy Appreciation Day is an annual event convened in the Senate Chamber and in the House Chamber located in the Legislative Building in Olympia to honor the U.S. Navy and its personnel in the Northwest Region.
