Miguel Antia, the top enlisted member of Headquarters and Headquarters Troop, 2nd Cavalry Regiment, participates in a flower-laying ceremony March 6 at the Oskars Kalpaks monument in Riga, Latvia with high-ranking defense officials and military personnel. The ceremony commemorates the death of Oskars Kalpaks, the first commander of the 1st Latvian Independent Battalion, known as “Kalpaks Battalion.” Kalpaks Battalion stopped the Bolshevik invasion of Latvia.
