In 1918, despite the 97 years difference and a slight update in equipment, gear and (Main) Operating Room attire, the one constant common thread between the Navy medical officer, nurse, stewards (hospital corpsmen) and American Red Cross nurses from generations past to today's Navy doctors, nurses and hospital corpsmen is their continued commitment, care and compassion to their patient at Naval Hospital Bremerton, which recognized the 112th birthday of being officially designated a Naval Hospital March 9, 1903.
