Churchill (DDG 81)and descendants of Winston S. Churchill cut a cake during a reception ceremony aboard the destroyer, March 25, 2015. The family has stayed in close contact with the ship's leadership and crew since the vessel's commissioning, March 10, 2001. Churchill, home-ported in Norfolk, is conducting naval operations in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations in support of U.S. national security interests in Europe.
