150328-N-OV358-047 ARABIAN GULF (March 28, 2015) - Sailors assigned to Commander, Task Group 56.1 (CTG 56.1) stand on the side of an 11-meter Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat (RHIB) from the CTG 56.1 Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (UUV) unit as the RHIB is lowered over the side of the Royal Fleet Auxiliary ship Cardigan Bay (L3009). CTG 56.1 and Cardigan Bay are currently participating in the 2015 mine countermeasure (MCM) exercise Artemis Trident. CTG 56.1 conducts MCM, explosive ordnance disposal, salvage diving and force protection operations throughout the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations. Artemis Trident is a full spectrum defensive MCM exercise for the combined U.S., U.K. and French MCM Task Force and serves as an air, surface and underwater MCM theater event to strengthen coalition MCM capability.
