All fossils come from someone's land. Specimens found on federal lands reside in the Museum of the Rockies National Repository but remain the property of the people of the United States. The museum cares for thousands of specimens found on federal lands making them available to research and, when possible, public display serving to further knowledge and scientific discovery.
