Petty Officer 2nd Class Chaung Pha, fire controlman, of Sacramento, Calif., explains functions of guided-missile destroyer USS McCampbell's Close-In Weapons System to Royal Australian navy sailors of guided-missile frigate HMAS Newcastle as part of a personnel cross-deck exercise series. McCampbell is underway with the Essex Strike Group in support of the bilateral training exercise Talisman Saber 2009, a biennial exercise between U.S. and Australian forces designed to enhance interoperability.
