First Lt. Nick Rossovskij, a platoon commander with 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, talks about his time as the platoon commander for Lance Cpl. Jacob Matthews who was a rifleman with the battalion and Chester, Md., native, during a memorial service aboard Camp Lejeune, N.C., April 24, 2015. Matthews died due to injuries sustained in a single-vehicle accident in the city of Jacksonville, N.C., April 10, 2015. “He served and he lived every day with a happy heart, a hundred percent of the time,” said Rossovskij. “He always gave a hundred percent; he never turned down any challenge.
