Retired NASA Flight Director Eugene Kranz is recognized as a U.S. Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps distinguished alumnus in a ceremony in his honor at Air War College, Dec. 16, 2014. Lt. Gen. Steven Kwast, commander and president, Air University, unveiled the plaque and presented Kranz with a clock inscribed with the words on the plaque. Kranz, best known for directing Mission Control during Apollo 13, was chosen because he attained a high level of honorable recognition or distinction for an accomplishment with Air Force-wide or national/international significance.
