Murray Shugars, 412th Theater Engineer Command, command historian from Vicksburg, Miss., views some of the artifacts salvaged at the USS Cairo Museum during a tour of the Vicksburg National Military Park June 7. The staff ride allowed Soldiers a glimpse into the past to give a better understanding of the battles fought, the conditions of the Soldiers and their surroundings and the decisions that guided them.
