U.S. 5th FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (May 12, 2015) – Sonar Technician (Surface) 2nd Class Alejandro Cearnel loads the .50 caliber gun mount on the aft missile deck during a Small Craft Attack Team (SCAT) drill aboard the guided-missile destroyer USS Forrest Sherman (DDG 98). Forrest Sherman is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations as part of Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group supporting Operation Inherent Resolve, strike operations in Iraq and Syria as directed, maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the region.
