Land (AS 39) supervise Military Sealift Command (MSC) personnel as they fire the M9 service pistol during a qualification on the flight deck. Emory S. Land has a hybrid crew of MSC and military who work together to execute its mission as a forward-deployed expeditionary submarine tender conducting coordinated tended moorings and afloat maintenance in the U.S. 5th and 7th Fleet areas of responsibility.
