GREAT LAKES, Ill. (June 5, 2015) – The newly dedicated Machinery Repairman “A” School Graduation Room at Surface Warfare Officers School Unit (SWOSU) Great Lakes bears the name of Machinery Repairman 3rd Class (SW) Jack Valentine who died as a result of injuries he sustained while aboard the USS Frank Cable (AS 40), Dec. 1, 2006. He died at Brooke Army Medical Center in Fort Sam Houston, Texas, Dec. 7 of that same year. The room was officially opened during a dedication ceremony June 5.
