“This deployment to Kosovo is my first real tour of duty. I did five weeks of training in Mongolia last year, but I like it here. My role as a liaison lets me see how other nations work, and I meet a lot of interesting people. I’ve really enjoyed interacting with U.S. troops while leading the German Army Proficiency Badge qualification. In Germany it is part of the routine for Soldiers to compete every year. The American troops bring a different type of motivation, and to see their excitement is very satisfying. Since it is their first time, I like explaining how each qualification is done and watching them compete.” German Oberleutnant Michael Kleber
231 Mountain Infantry Battalion from Bad Reichenhall, Germany.
