Col. Scott Perry, assistant division commander (Support), 28th Infantry Division, took his last flight on Thursday, Aug. 13, from Muir Airfield on Fort Indiantown Gap, Annville, Pa. Perry commanded the 2nd battalion, 104th Aviation, in Iraq in 2009-10 and served as a combat pilot in Black Hawk helicopters during that tour. Perry walked through an arch of water created by three emergency fire trucks, marking the end of more than 30 years of flying. This arch of water is a traditional final salute for the pilot leaving flight status. Perry will continue to serve in the Pennsylvania National Guard on the command staff of 28th Infantry Division.
