150811-N-JH668-032 SAN DIEGO (Aug. 11, 2015) – Electrician’s Mate Fireman Stephanie Hynek, assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), removes the covering box of a solenoid-operated pilot valve in preparation to check the power supply. This helps ensure that power was properly secured in a specific location. America is currently undergoing a Post-Shakedown Availability (PSA) in which the ship’s crew and assigned contractors make improvements to the ship’s design. America’s PSA will pave the way for future America-class amphibious assault ships. (U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist 3rd Class Kyle Hafer/Released)
