150814-N-AV234-053 SAN DIEGO (Aug. 14, 2015) – Ship’s Serviceman 3rd Class Ana Saucedo, assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), applies silicone compound to a valve stem while performing routine maintenance. America is currently undergoing a Post-Shakedown Availability (PSA) in which the ship’s crew and assigned contractors make improvements to the ship’s design.
