(Aug. 21, 2015) – Senior Chief Explosive Ordnance Disposal Roy Vanek, assigned to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Group (EODGRU) 1, salutes a mother and her children at the Kansas City Sea Life Aquarium after learning that her husband is currently deployed. The event was part of Kansas City Navy Week. Kansas City is one of 12 cities selected across the U.S. to host a 2015 Navy Week. Navy Weeks are designed to give residents in areas with limited exposure to the Navy a chance to meet Sailors and learn about the Navy's capabilities.
