Lt. Steve McIntyre, a U.S. Navy hydrographic officer embarked aboard the Dutch navy Africa Partnership Station platform HNLMS Johan de Witt (L 801), monitors survey data collected during a hydrographic survey of the Buchanan port. This survey, and other surveys conducted in Greenville and Monrovia, will provide data to update navigational charts. Johan de Witt is the first European-led Africa Partnership Station platform and is augmented by staff from Belgium, Portugal and the United States. Africa Partnership Station, originally a U.S. Navy initiative, is now an international effort aimed at improving maritime safety and security in Africa. (U.S. Navy photo by Lt. Travis Clem/Released)
