151015-N-GG858-026 GULF OF ADEN (October 15, 2015) San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS Anchorage (LPD 23) transits the Gulf of Aqaba enroute to a port visit in Eilat, Israel. Anchorage is part of the Essex Amphibious Ready Group and with the embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (15th MEU), is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
