The Coast Guard Yard in Baltimore, Md., positions the Coast Guard Cutter Bristol Bay (WTGB 102) Oct. 14, 2015, on the shiplift to begin the dry-dock phase of a Service Life Extension Project on the 36-year-old icebreaker tug. The 140' vessel is the third cutter to enter the Coast Guard's In-Service Vessel Sustainment program, an anticipated 12-month mid-life renovation and systems upgrade on select Coast Guard cutters. The Bristol Bay's primary mission is to open and maintain icebound shipping lanes in the Great Lakes. It is homeported in Detroit. (Photo by Bob Hayden, Yard)
