Kenya army soldiers lock arms as a second line of defense behind the Djibouti Police Force, dressed in full riot gear, in an attempt to contain a crowd of angry villagers during a training scenario near Ali Faden, Djibouti, Dec. 3, 2009. The villagers are rioting in response to one of their fellow villagers being hit and thought to be killed by a military vehicle. This training scenario is set to test the response actions in dealing with riot and crowd control. The Eastern African Standby Force Field Training Exercise is a multinational, multidimensional exercise that is designed to test the EASF initial operating capabilities. This series of field exercises are being conducted in the host nation of Djibouti Nov. 29 - Dec. 4, 2009.
