    Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling

Jessica Brasseal, an employee of Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling’s Ability One Base Supply Center, and a native of Courtenay, British Columbia, Canada, rings up an office supply purchase by Mississippi Army National Guard Staff Sgt. George Heath, a native of Union, Mississippi and supply sergeant for the 1st Battalion 204th Air Defense Artillery and the Joint Air Defense Operations Center in Washington. The center, operated by Blind Industries and Services of Maryland, invests in and employs a variety of assistive technology tools that enable blind employees such as Brasseal to do her job including talking registers, talking hand-held scanners, so that she can ring up customers, place orders, stock shelves, help customers find items for which they are shopping. Everything she needs to do in the store to help customers she can do without any assistance.
