TANDUO, Malaysia (Nov. 11, 2015) U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Nicholas Sellars looks at a knife made of bamboo in a jungle survival course during Malaysia-United States Amphibious Exercise 2015. Sellars is a mortar man with Weapons Company, Battalion Landing Team 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit. During the course, Marines learned how to trap wild game, find sources of fresh water, build shelters, and how to start a fire from soldiers with the Malaysian armed forces. The purpose of the exercise was to strengthen military cooperation in the planning and execution of amphibious operations between Malaysian armed forces and U.S. Marines. The 15th MEU is currently deployed in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region to promote regional stability and security in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Sgt.
