Cargo pallets, seen through thermal goggles, parachute into a drop zone near Forward Operating Base Geronimo after being released from an airplane Dec. 27. Palletized supply bundles like these are delivered about four nights a week to resupply Marines of 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, with food, water, and building materials. Marines from the battalion's logistics operations section must account for and collect each of the bundles once they reach the ground.
