Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and Lt. Gen. Daniel J. Darnell, the deputy commander for the U.S. Pacific Command drop a few flowers over the haul of the USS Arizona Memorial, Jan. 12, in Honolulu, Hawaii. Secretary Clinton is conducting a trip through the western Pacific to strengthen ties with our partner nations, which will involve stops in Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea and Hawaii was her first stop where she met with Japanese Foreign Minister Katsuya Okada to discuss the movement of Marine Corps Futenma Air Base, the expansion of the Japan - U.S. security alliance, the war in Afghanistan and the nuclear programs in North Korea.
