108th Training Command- Initial Entry Training

Matthew George, an enlistee in the U.S. Army, works to remove the buffer and spring from an M16A2 semiautomatic weapon on Future Soldier Day at the U.S. Army Reserve Center in Asheville, N.C., Feb. 20, 2016. The Future Soldier Day was an event hosted by 1st Bn., 518th Inf. Reg., 98th Training Div. (IET), where nearly 40 current or future enlistees in the Army and Army Reserve came together to receive an introduction to physical readiness training, map reading, drill and ceremony, and clearing and disassembly of an M16A2 semiautomatic weapon. The event also gave the drill sergeants and drill sergeant candidates of 1st Bn. 518th Inf. Reg. the opportunity to hone their skills in preparation for their upcoming annual training mission.
