U.S. Marine Sgt. Maj. Jonathan Henry, from Riddleton, Tennessee, speaks to sergeants major from all over the Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force about what the Marine Corps can teach its students while attending the Staff Non-Commissioned Officer Academy (SNCOA) at Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, March 4, 2016. The SNCOA hosted the JGSDF during a Japanese Observer Exchange Program event where JGSDF personnel observed the way the SNCOA teaches Marines leadership skills. The JGSDF observed presentations that explained U.S. Marine rank progression and the instruction each Marine receives as they progress throughout their career. The Japan Observer Exchange Program gives Marines and Sailors with the III Marine Expeditionary Force and members of the JSDF the opportunity to observe the training of their counterparts to increase mutual understanding and interoperability. Henry is the director of the SNCOA. The JGSDF members are among the highest billet sergeants major in the JGSDF. (U.S. Marine Corps Photo by Cpl. Devon Tindle/Released)
