Cadet Luz Acosta from Gainesville High School in Georgia, takes aim at a small target 45.5 millimeters in diameter and 10 meters (33 feet) away during the 2016 JROTC National Air Rifle Championship in Anniston, Ala., on March 19. Gainesville is a Navy affilliate and one of the 73 schools that sent 56 teams as well as numerous individual shooters representing the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps air rifle teams for all four U.S. Armed Forces. Teams and individuals shot their way through various local and regional competitions in order to qualify for this culminating event. Competitors have a screen that shows that allows them to see where each shot hits. As can be seen on the screen, Acosta's shot was almost dead center.
