Anniston, Ala., was the site for the 2016 JROTC National Air Rifle Championship. 56 Teams from 73 schools as well as numerous individual shooters representing all four U.S. Armed Forces shot their way through various local and regional competitions in order to qualify for this culminating event. Pictured here are shooters in the Precision class. The outfits are made of canvas and leather keeping the shooter more stable in their firing positions and can cost thousands of dollars as can the air rifles they are using. Many of these athletes are looking forward to competing at the collegiate level after high school.
