A U.S. Navy special warfare operator Petty Officer 3rd Class medic assigned to Joint Special Operations Task Force-Philippines looks on as a members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines Naval Special Operations Group administers an IV. JSOTF-P medics teamed up with Filipino Navy SEALs to assist in teaching a month-long course certifying 20 AFP Navy SEALs as combat medics. During the course, students learned about how to properly treat a variety of combat-related injuries, such as applying a tourniquet to stop bleeding, ways to open a patient's airway, treatment for a collapsed lung and how to treat patients for shock.
