Empty bottles from the Battle of Iwo Jima lay in the darkness of underground tunnels March 20 on Iwo To, Japan. These bottles were likely used to hold alcohol or medical supplies in the Japanese Naval Hospital Headquarters cave. These bottles have been undisturbed for so long they are slowly getting buried by dust. Many areas of the tunnels are too dangerous to explore due to cave-ins and unexploded ordnance.
