Leading by example, Col. Mark R. Stammer, commander of 1st Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division (Advise and Assist Brigade), exits a C-130 aircraft, Feb. 12, at Al Asad Airbase, Iraq, as part of the largest airborne training exercise conducted by U.S. forces in Iraq since the beginning of the war. Refreshing the airborne proficiency of his Paratroopers is the first step toward the goal of combined U.S. - Iraqi airborne training exercises and an enduring strategic partnership.
