Representatives of the Mayor's Veterans Advisory Committee of Manchester Township collected donations for the World War II Veterans Memorial, which will be in the township's World War II Veterans Memorial Park in Whiting, N.J. The vets reached out to the Joint Base community at the commissary Feb. 19-20, for help in raising additional funds needed due to the rise in material costs because of the recession. Representing the band of brothers at the commissary were, left to right, Al Cirone, Army veteran of Korean War; Rocco Coscia, World War II and Korean War Marine Corps veteran; Frank Barone, World War II Army veteran, and Milton "Pappy" Gore, World War II and Korean War veteran.
