160419-N-GV721-053 GULF OF ADEN (April 19, 2016) Boatswain’s Mate 2nd Class Pierre Humphries directs the steering of a disabled high-mobility multipurpose wheeled vehicle (HMMWV), assigned to Battalion Landing Team 2/1, as a recovery winch pulls the vehicle in the well deck of amphibious assault ship USS Boxer (LHD 4). Boxer is the flagship for the Boxer Amphibious Ready Group and, with the embarked 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit, is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
