GULF OF ADEN (April 9, 2016) Sgt. Thomas Lloyd, assigned to 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit’s (13th MEU) Maritime Raid Force (MRF), uses a BROCO exothermic cutting torch to cut through a mock steel door as part of sustainment training in the fabrication shop aboard amphibious transport dock ship USS New Orleans (LPD 18). USS New Orleans is part of the Boxer Amphibious Ready Group and, with the embarked 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit, is deployed on support of maritime security operations and theatre security cooperation efforts in the 5th Fleet area of operations.
