Lt. Rex Aman, of Tonopah, Nev., squeezes the deck status light pickle during flight operations aboard the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz. The deck status light pickle signals to the flight deck crew and all aviators that the flight deck is open to safely land aircraft. Nimitz and embarked Carrier Air Wing 11 are currently in transit back to the United States after an eight month deployment to the Arabian Sea in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and to the Western-Pacific Region promoting peace and regional cooperation and stability.
