The 2123rd Transportation Company, from the Bluegrass state of Kentucky, is now en route to perform its convoy and logistical support mission in Afghanistan. These more than 170 Soldiers are with the Kentucky Army National Guard, from Richmond, Ky., and completed their mobilization training at Army Support Activity-Dix. Sgt. 1st Class Jay Taheny, from Richmond, Ky., the organization operations non-commissioned officer, and Capt. John Moore, from Elizabethtown, Ky., the unit commander, display their Yellow Banner at ASA-Dix's Griffith Field House March 15. The Yellow Banner is given to units that mobilize through ASA-Dix as a symbolic gesture that the servicemembers are in the thoughts and well-wishes of the community. The banner is hung in Infantry Park while the unit is deployed and given back to the organization upon its return.
