160621-N-XB010-022 PANAMA CANAL (Jun. 21, 2016) - Boatswain's Mate Seaman Drew Baum, from Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania, left, and Boatswain's Mate 3rd Class Matthew Pierson, from Paducah, Kentucky, make chaffing gear on the Harper's Ferry dock landing assault ship USS Oak Hill (LSD 51) forecastle to protect ship lines when mooring. To commemorate the recent expansion of the Panama Canal, Oak Hill is conducting a port visit in Rodman, Panama. During the visit, the ship is hosting a reception with local officials and diplomats from the Unites States and trade partners. Oak Hill is deployed to the U.S. 4th Fleet area of responsibility.
