160622-N-QP351-134 Damage Controlman 2nd Class Phillip McGraw graduated from Rising Sun High School in Rising Sun Indiana in 2005. He was a lifeguard afterwards while he also worked in construction. In January 2007, he enlisted in the Coast Guard and was assigned to the Cutter Hammer based in Mayport, Florida. The following year he attended A-School in Yorktown for 17 weeks, where he reported to The Housing Unit in Lake Worth Florida until 2012. From there he transferred to Charleston, S.C. on the Cutter Oak (WLB 211) for two years until he reported to the Cutter Isaac Mayo (WPC 1112) for Independent duty in 2014.
