FORT FISHER, N.C. – In an assimilated field combat lifesaver course, Spc. Alejandro Benavides, of the 130th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, prepares to apply a tourniquet to a fallen comrade during National Guard annual training here, June 17. Benavides kept a cool head as Capt. Alvin Haymond (left), a physician with the 130th, screamed in agony as if he were the victim. Benevidas reacted quickly to the prompts by the medics and was recognized as the highest scorer of the class. (Photo by Army National Guard Sgt.
